The following troubles were reported and corrected for the period through 27 February 1963: Main Signal Center - 108 SSCB - 43 7th Floor - 10 25X1A6b - 11 TOTAL 162 2. Projects a. The HW-19A replacement program in SSCB is now completed. Four HW-19A configurations were placed in operation, replacing the 13332 tables which were PTI'ed to the Central Depot. b. One each audio patch panel, NFEMS-99A, with a 100 "B" Block was pre-wired for OC-AD. c. Fifty each of the 149-A adaptors that are used with the HW-19A- TWX installations were modified. d. A new receive six channel monitor reperforator cabinet, LBAC-242, has been assembled and is being checked out. e. Two TT23SG switchboards were wired and returned to the Central Depot for packing and issue. f. One T.D. and one reperforator were modified to 67 WPM for use with the Telex installation in the Main Signal Center. g. One Model "B" and one Model "C" KW-26 with the necessary ancil- lary equipment were installed at SPS/CEN. h. A program to modify all CSR-2's according to the Engineering modification work order No. 56 has been initiated. i. Ten audio patch panels, NalS-99A, with harness and terminal blocks are being pre-wired for field issue. j. Very High Frequency Regular preventive maintenance was performed during this period. Microwave No troubles were reported during this period. The monthly pre- ventive maintenance checks were performed. 3. KY-5 The KY-5 installation between Room 2C15 and has 25X1A6b been canceled. The two KY-l's used between 6B12 will be used instead. nd Room 25X1A6a 4. KY-1 a. The following KY-1 installations have been completed: Langley Area State Department Room 1A26 Room 8667 Room 1H66 Room 6530 Room 1B2L$ Room 2135 Room 6B12 Room 6DT214+A 25X1A6a b. Considerable trouble has been encountered on the circuit between Room 6B12 and Room 6N214A. The circuit is usable but not up to stan- dards. No further action is being taken at this time, as a Gray Phone System is to be installed in the near future. c. An extension phone was installed in Room 1B24, Langley. d.ne Telephone Company is providing switching systems in Room 2D18 and Room 1B21.. e. Ir-1 circuits are scheduled to be installed bet een the State De- partment - Rooms 6535, 2D18 and 4C30 - and the 25X1A6b Generators a. 200 KW Unit 1) Both diesels were run under load for a period of 1.2 hours. A total of eighty (80) man hours was expended on preventive maintenance. TSB Supply 1. The total expenditures for Fiscal Year 1963 as of 25 February 1963 were $205,345.31. Included in this total is the cost ($94,662.00) 25X1A6a of R.F. and Alarm Equipment for the microwave installation at Langley, and State. 2. As of 25 February 1963 three hundred and sixteen (316) field requests, consisting of 2,726 line items, have been processed. 25X1A6a 3. Cryptographic Semi-Annual Inventory has been completed. 4. Projects a. All IM-7 parts have been pulled from stock and relocated in GF-44. b. When funds become available, the locator card system at Langley will be changed from 3 x 5 wooden boxes to a more compact rotary fil- ing system. Overtime and Holiday Time As of 28 February 3-963 a total of four hundred and thirty-one (431) hours of overtime has been expended. On 22 February 1963 a total of sixty-four (64) hours of holiday time was expended. TECHNICAL GROUP 1. TcI Unit a. A total of 478 Requisitions consisting of 1,697 line items was processed. b. A total of 585 Receiving Reports consisting of 1,032 line items was processed. c. A total of 41 rejections, 5 from stock and 36 from vendors, was processed. The linear amplifier was returned from the ven- dor after modification. During testing a circuit breaker failed. The tests have halted until the vendor replaces the breaker. 25X1A5a1 e. The sideband converter noise problem is still unsolved although Mr. and Mr. spent considerable 25X1A9a time at FTG searching for corrective measures. f. PTI/Repair Unit a. I. total of 12 vouchers consisting of 26 line items was processed. b. Due to the shortage of personnel and the Unit supervisor on TDY 25X1A6b in work in this unit has been greatly curtailed. 3. hehab. Unit a. 11 each Tinytots were checked out and all had to be adjusted. 1h ree of the M-15 printers had pulling type selector units. These were replaced with the holding type selector units. All eleven units are being held in Condition-3 waiting transmitter distributors. b. 2 each M-19 sets were received from Room 2 and 25X1A6b are being rewired and tested for processing into stock. The following equipment was assembled, prewired, and tested prior to being sent to Packing and Crating for shipment: 2 each KW-26 units mounted in racks and plumbing installed and wired. 1 each ASR with reperforator for use with KW-26. 1 each KSR for use with KW-26. 2 each 1310 UGQ, six channel switchboards for use as classified/ unclassified KW-26 patching. 2 each Racks for use with HW-19 were assembled and wired. These are being held in the Rehab. Unit for future requisitions. 2 each 1210 UGC switchboards wired for use with KW-26 were lent 25X1A6b to _ for the SPS/CEN installation. d. A total of 96 outgoing vouchers totaling 250 items was processed. e. A total of 38 incoming vouchers totaling 93 items was processed. 4. Crystal Unit A total of 36 requisitions for 19,959 crystals was received, and 29 requisitions for 19,071 crystals were processed. Fifteen thou- sand (15,000) of the crystals processed this month were bulk shipments for field stock. 5. Instrument Test and Calibration Unit A total of 48 pieces of equipment was checked and calibrated. 6. The Mechanical Unit continued its normal support function. 7. The total dollar value of items handled by FTG was 1,285,017. 25X1A6a 8. Depot a. During the period from 16 January to 15 February, there has been a total of 79 Debit vouchers consisting of 150 line items processed for the Receiving Unit. b. During the same period a total of 1 shipment consisting of 1 line item-was processed for the Shipping Unit. c. The A.C. outlets in the shop area have been replaced with the 3 wire grounding type. The plugnolds on the work benches were replaced with 6 outlet, prewired, outlet boxes.
