The RT-49 is a crystal or synthesizer controlled, transistorized
transmitter which has a power output of 15 watts. The transmitter
covers a frequency range of 3 - 24 Mc. A hand key is provided for
manual Morse code keying (up to 12 WPM); however, the transmitter will
normally be used with an automatic keying device operating at a speed
of 300 WPM. The transmitter is designed to match random-length antennas.

The transmitter's power requirement is 42 volts DC at-appro

The RP-49 is a DC to DC Converter designed specifically for use
with the RT-49. The input is 12 volts DC and the output is sufficient
to operate the RT-49 Transmitter. The approximate
5" x 34" x 12". Its weight is 1 pound, 4 ounces.

discussed checkout procedures with the 25X1A5a1
Quality Control man. There didn't seem to be any difference of opinion
between the two and T&I will use checkout procedure or a .25X1A5a1
modified version of it.
25X1A5a1 - has not received the solid dielectric tuning capacitors
25X1A5a1 from the vendor says they have built the capacitors-
according to the rawings and obtained only 450 ??f instead of
25X1 A5a 1 700 ??f as specified. Mr. while we were there, 25X1 A5a 1
to check to see how the sample taken from an transmitter 25X1A5a1
compared with the units built from - drawings. A difference 25X1A5a1
was found between the plate spacers in the model and the 25X1A5a1
25X1 A5a 1 spacers in the _ model. The drawings appear to be in error. 25X1 A5a 1
will modify their units immediately which should resolve the problem.
Thus, the capacitor crisis has become a minor problem and the major
problem today is the front panel for the cases. An incorrectly
25X1A5a1 interpreted drawing has resulted in the band switch shaft
-- hole on the case being misplaced 0.10 inch from where it should be.
As a results the first ten cases will be scrapped and it will be
about ten days before new cases can be made.
The RP-49 appears to be on schedule with no problems in sight.
As explained above, the RT-49 cannot be assembles in time to meet the
delivery schedule. Providing no additional major problems occur., I
estimate that delivery of these units will occur the second or third
week in January.
