or Release 200MG : CIA-RDP78-03090A00010005 OQQ2,7 ADMINISTRATIVE INTERNAL USE ONLY SPECIAL BULLETIN No. 26-63 1 August 1963 TO: All Agency Training Officers NATIONAL SECURITY SEMINARS Two National Security Seminars for Civil Service personnel will be conducted by the Industrial College of the Armed Forces at Fort Lesley J. McNair in cooperation with the U. S. Civil Ser- vice Commission. Dates 9-13 September and 16-20 September. Eligibility: GS-11 and above. Procedure: Send Form 136 (Request for Training at non-CIA facility) to External Training Branch, Registrar Staff no later than 7 August. Purpose . To provide federal officials with 1. a broad view of national security problems, 2. a close look at the causes and meanings of world dissen- signs that threaten our vital interests and existence. 3. increased knowledge of how our economic forces are brought to bear on world problems, 4. a review of our dependence on other free nations for mar- kets, services, and critical raw materials, and 5. additional insights into their responsibilities in this global contest for survival. Background: The Seminars have received strong support and commendations from federal officials who have attended in Washington and through- out the country. At the request of the Civil Service Commission, the Department of Defense is conducting two special sessions in Washington for civil service personnel.
