To: All Training Officers of the Agency
LANGUAGE APTITUDE TESTS
Effective with classes beginning 1 July 1969,
Agency employees scheduled for language training
administered by the OTR Language School will be
required to take the Modern Language Aptitude Test
(.MLAT). (The test is also open to other employees
who may be interested.) The MLAT is required even
if another form of language aptitude test has been
previously taken, or if the complete results of an
MLAT taken elsewhere are not on file in the Agency.
The test must be taken at least two weeks prior
to the scheduled starting date of the course and
should be taken as far in advance as possible,
bearing in mind that the request for language
training must be submitted six weeks prior to
the starting dated
The Office of Medical Services/Assessment and.
Evaluation Staff will give the MLAT the second
Thursday of each month, beginning 12 June 1969.
The test will normally be given in Room 441,
1000 North Glebe Road, starting at 0900 hours
and lasting approximately one hour. Component
Training Officers or Training Assistants should
telephone Barbara, extension or appointme`R(A
Current procedures concerning aptitude testing
for external language training will remain in effect.
