OTR RUSSIAN LANGUAGE READING COURSES AT HEADQUARTERS
(#757 & #758)
1. Listed below are Russian language reading
courses to be offered in the Headquarters Building by
the Language School of OTR. These courses are in
addition to those described in Special Bulletin Noe 15-71
(28 July 1971) and the OTR Catalog. These classes will
be scheduled during the day in Room 1D-1609x,
a. Readings in Geography of the USSR #757
(42 hours
Duration: 25 October 1971 - 4 February 1972
Frequency: 1 1/2 hours, twice a week
Prerequisite: Russian Grammar #753 or equivalent
The course presents readings in the economic and
physical geography of the USSR The economic
geography text for the course is a ninth year
reader by Lyalikov used in the Soviet middle
school system. The physical geography text by
Davidova was designed for Soviet higher
educational institutions,
b. Readings in Science and Technology #758
Science
(42 ours
Duration: 25 October 1971 - 4 February 1972
Frequency: 1 hourA, 3 days per week
Prerequisite: Russian Grammar #753 or equivalent
The course presents readings from Soviet scientific
and technical journals, with the students for the
most part selecting journal articles which are in
their own field of scientific interest,
2. It is estimated that two hours of outside study
will be required for each hour of class participation in
the courses described above. Only those individuals who
are able to maintain an excellent attendance record
should apply for admission.
3. Any one wishing to enroll in either of the courses
should submit Form 73, Request for Internal Training,
through his Training Officer, to OTR/ISS/AIR by
