TUTORS NEEDED IN SPANISH
15 January 1962
The Language and Area School of the Office of Training
urgently needs tutors in Spanish because of the steadily increasing
demand for training in that language. Employees are asked to
submit names of dependents who have native or high competency in
spoken Spanish and who are interested in giving part-time tutorial
instruction in this special training effort. There is an established
hourly fee for the work, and each tutor will enter into a contract
based on that fee. LAS will provide the necessary training and
guidance for candidates with no prior teaching experience. Instruction
will take place either at Arlington Towers or in the homes of the
tutors.
The tutorial program has been in existence almost two years.
During 1961 a total of 44 tutors participated in the program. Although
the immediate requirement is for tutors in Spanish, the turnover rate
among tutors has been considerable and LAS has a continuing interest
in receiving names of wives or other dependents who have the
required proficiency in other foreign languages and who have an
interest in part-time tutorial work.
LAS requests that interested persons phone
