OFFIC ~ lap-roved For Release 2001 I16 : CIA-RDP78-0309OA0001002000 ~233-3 L E~ ~-T 7_ N SPECIAL BULLETIN Number 31-62 TO: Agency Training Officers 27 June 1962 SENIOR OFFICER COUNTER-INSURGENCY AND SPECIAL WARFARE ORIENTATION The Department of the Army has announced a new course, Senior Officer Counter_Insurgency and Special Warfare Orientation, to be conducted at the Special Warfare School, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The course is designed to provide senior commissioned officers and civilian personnel of the U. S. Government with a general knowledge ot the latest doctrine and concepts of special warfare, with emphasis on counter-insurgency operations, paramili- tary support forces, special forces operations It is one week long. Course numbers and dates are: 1-63 15 to 20 July 1962 2-63 26 to 31 August 1962 3-63 23 to 28 September 1962 4-63 28 October to 2 November 1962 5-63 2 to 7 December 1962 6-63 3 to 8 February 1963 7-63 3 to 8 Mare-h 1963 8-63 12 to 17 may 1963 The Agency has a quota of two spaces for each presentation. It is intended that one of the two be filled by an Agency reserve officer on active duty training and the second in each running be used by a civilian officer. The course is open to military personnel in the grade of Colonel or higher and to civilians of comparable rank. Civilians in grade GS-14 are eligible provided they have background in tJW or counter-insurgency. Agency reservists have already been given instructions on applying for this course as active duty training.
