1. The minutes of ,he last meeting of the Board were reviewed and approved
as presented.
2. The Board reviewed 26 cases of employees who had been nominated for
designation as participants, including the cases of

of the following named employees:

c. Recommended the following named employees for designation as
participants in the System:
a. Reconurierided that tnie request fL.,r designation of the following
named employee as resubmitted by the Director of Communications be disapproved
on the basis that the claimed period of qualifying service performed in the
United States was not considered to be qualifying under the provisions of para-
graph b.(11)(b) of HE
3. The Chairman announced that the request for delegation. of authority
to the Director of Personnel to grant extensions of up to one year in manda-
tory retirement cases had been approved by the DDCI. The Chairman rioted that
such delegation carried with it the requirement to submit monthly reports to
the Executive Director-Comptroller citing the names, ranks, and length of
extensions approved.
