1. The minutes of the seventy-first meeting of the Board were reviewed
and approved as presented.
2. The Board reviewed 22 cases of employees who had been nominated for
designation as participants in the System. The Board took action as follows:
a. Recommended designation as participants of the following named
employees who have completed 15 years of Agency service:

3. The Board next considered 3 cases involving extension of scheduled
retirement under the Civil Service Retirement System. The Board took action
as follows:
a. requested that she be granted a further
extension of employment, into 1968, based on financial hardship and to
allow additional time for her to secure employment in private industry.
The Deputy Director for Intelligence recommended that she be granted an
extension until 27 January 1968. The Board unanimously recommended that
be extended until 27 January 1968.
b. The re uest for extension of scheduled retirement received from
was tabled for future consideration.
c. requested that he be granted an exten-
sion of employment from 27 January 1968 until 27 January 1970, based on
veteran's preference rights and certain other Executive Orders pertaining
to discrimination on the basis of age. The Acting Director, IS P E C
and the Deputy Director for Intelligence
ave stated that there is no operational justification for the retention
of and have recommended that he retire as scheduled. Based
on t e information contained in the letter submitted by
dated 14 June 1967, the Board unanimously recommended that
not be granted an extension of retirement. However, prior to the airman
informing him of this decision, it was decided that the Chairman,
and Mr. John Warner would discuss this case with the Execu
Director-Comptroller as to what future course of action is to be taken.
4. The Chairman stated that a list would be compiled to include each
employee affected by the change in retirement policy. This list will include
all employees whose retirement dates were changed, thereby not allowing for
the normal five year notification period.
5. The meeting adjourned at 3:50 p.m.
