When was here he asked permission for Mr. L. W. Hayes,
BBC's Chim-A r, who is now in Mexico City attending the tele-
communications conference, to visit Reseda on his return trip. I
have just received a radiogram from Mr. Hayes saying that he would
like very much to visit the station sometime between December 27
and 31. 1 have replied that we would be very glad to have him see
the station and upon arrival in Los Angeles to contact either you or
You are authorised to show him all of the technical installations
of the station. I can see no necessity for discussing detailed
operations with him, but he is thoroughly familiar with monitoring,
technioal facilities, etc., and you may exercise considerable latitude
in this respect if it appears neoessary. I feel sure, however, that
he will be interested only in the technical aspects of our operation.
If you or have any holiday plans which make it moon-
venient for you personally to show him around the station, it is
perfectly all right to delegate it to someone else. I feel sure that
he will not care to spend more than one day at the station.
I should appreciate your courtesies to Mr. Hayes as a part of
our overall FBISOBBC reciprocal arrangement.
