Installation of Teletype witahboard, ?BID
1. a. &t the present time the I9 outgoing wire ("i'" 4ire)
consists of four loops, as follows
(1) To Voice of America, terminating in :state

(2) To North Interior, terminating in the kmeoutiwe
Offices of CIA, Federal works Building*
(3) To Imtelligonae Division of the Army, terminating
in the Pentagon building.
(4) To ORS, terminating in "1' Building,
b. This wire service was designed primarily to furnish
sinni?ioartt foreign new ar d propaganda broadcasts to the
;hate Department for use in its "'Voice of America" radio
program. In adding repeater loops for the information of
offices listed above, it has become desirable to provide for
transmission over selected loops only of certain types of
material which it is unsuitable or improper to distribute to
all four offloes.
2. This arrangement may be made by installation of a tcletypa
switchboard on the "s" lira teletype sending machine in Briggs
School, permitting the sire editor to **loot and transmit suitable
material for each user. In order to allow for one additional user
of the "8" hire service It is believed that a Sloop siritehboard should
be Installed. 'BI!! has been informed that the switchboard can be
installed at a cost of 180.00. rental charges would be #20.8b per
month.
