Subject: "Repeat" Items
1. Fragmentary reception of a number of recent significant
broadcast items brings to attention the importance of making
every effort in the field to fill in gaps in significant
material by the use of subsequent identical or similar broad-
casts from the same or other stations. Field editors and moni-
tors should be cautioned against a too ready discard of material
as "repeat" without prior check to make sure that such items
were broadcast in entirety and fully texted when first received.
2. This caution applies particularly to material for
which broadcasts may be the only source or the only rapid
source, for example documentary items such as a resolution of
the Central Committee of the Greek Communist Party broadcast
by the Free Greece Radio.
