the Chairman reported on his discussions with TBD on the proposed
retirements for *moisture condenser amd a heisting levier, for beating
food under survival conditions. Persommel of =were briefed on the

proposals. Copies of the proposed reqnirements were transmitted to TSB.
TSD is to study the proposals and report their views on the feasibility
of these requirements.
4. A brief summary at the rrw appearing on the questionnaires
completed by members of the Special Forces who tested the survival
rations was read to the Panel. Owe:ally these remarks expressed
dissatisfaction with the ration*, however, it must be kept in mind that
the survival rations vill never be as satisfactory as regular meals.
This summary is available to any asabar of the Panel who desires to
study it. The Gpecial fames hove agreed to test the rations again in
January. The Osamu' is Checking on an article Appearing in the
Mow York limes which reported that Special Forces had tested a Civil

consumed by each man during the test period was only 4 pounds.
