Interim Progress Report
Contract RD-84
WO. 28-2000-2
Job No. 175
This report covers the work done through January 1956
in modifying 4 type K-20 cameras as per above referenced
Work Order.
1. Battery cases have been designed, built, and
corrosion proofed. These cases mount. inside
the optical compartment with a vent to the
outside only.
2. The shutter timing problem has been solved by
use of a capacitance-delayed relay. A similar
system is expected to be used for the lamp
flash timing and is now undergoing investigation.
3. The general problem of improving the uniformity
of illumination is now being investigated.
4. Labyrinth seals have been built between the cover
and the camera body.
5. All cameras have been checked and reconditioned
by Fairchild Camera and Instrument Co.
