eh Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2014/04/03: CIA-RDP78-03153A001600030007-7 // 14 September 1955 MEMORANDUM FOR: C/TSS/APD SUBJECT : Remodification and Testing Four (4) K-20 Camera's 1. The four (4) K-20 camera's recently tested by TSS/PD has been returned to APD on 13 September 1955. 2. The tests conducted by PD did not reveal new information pertinent to that already obtained during flight tests under actual trial runs. The PD tests were made on the ground at constant temperature whereas the flight tests were made at variable temperatures. . 3. Recommendations: a. Refer to memo to C/TSS/APD dated 1 July 1955. C4r2010Moiwit.0474 / jut After Photonecbanism's has had time and every opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities in an effort to modify these camera's under their original agreement and proposal that they conld perform the requirements agreed upon is again given to them, it then can.be determined Whether or not Photonechanism's has the actual ability to perform and produce or if they attempt to take on any requirement photographically such as the K-20 modification fiasco. 7 AEK The time limit placed upon Photomechanism's was short but Photomechanism's said they could deliver, but the delivery date had to be extended (3) three days in order to get at least (1) one each of the different models, and then there was no assurance that any reliance or depend- , ability could be placed upon the performance of these cameras. a If these cameras cannot become the instrument they are intended for, then it becomes our problem and not reconnended for further operational use.
