STATUS Investigation of Remote Control Problem The general characteristics of the desired operational sequence were determined and various proposals to obtain these characteristics were examined. The previous successful use of 720 cps as a control signal for off peak load scheduling on distribution systems has led to an investigation of the feasibility of the use of this frequency fdr the present purpose. An investigation was made to determine means of coupling the 720 cps signal into the power line. The 720 cps characteristics of the lab power die. tribution system were explored. A 720 cps off peak load water heater control switch was obtained and its operating principles evaluated. A dual time constant thermistor bridge, to be used in conjunction with a frequency selective pilot relay was developed to afford immunity from transients and to obtain the desired automatically synchronized operational sequence.
