1. A meting of the Hole-Drilling Camodttse was held on 214 January
1956. 'T'hose present were:
The activities of each of the four Divisions rspzeeentsd at the meting are
given below:
Drilling Plaster: Roles bared through wall panel sections nW at

on order for further trial.
This work is being done under direction of TR2/ZD.
Drilling Concrete: Diamond drills cut concrete esaah sore rapidly than
carbide - pps ri ha . However the diamond drills had to be cooled thoroughly
by water, otherwise they burn readily. Also their embe*menta wore away rapidly
in several tests allowing the disaoads to fall out.
Additional drilling rigs and dlsesond drills are on order for eantinuation
of this work.
Preliainsry tests on thermal shock treatment by alternately iaepineia,Q hot
air and dry-ice-chilled solvent on the concrete ware nesuceeseful. Indications
that flame treatment at least up to red heat my be necessary. Torch treatments
will be tried.
