Specific - Transmittal of CCS-1 Carrier-Current Surveillance
System
ACTION REQUIRZD: Comments on its operation will be appreciated.
1. Transmitted herewith are CCS-1 carrier-current surveillance systems
for your operational use.
2. This equipment in to be used by the Field on a stop-gap basis.
KURIOT R&D hae tested another carrier-current aystem, and has found it to be
overall superior to the CCS-1. However, the new syatem in atill in the
production stage, and the 0CS-1 will serve until the new units are made
operational. The following limitations should be noted when contemplating
the CCS-1 for operational use: -
a. Do not operate the equipment in enclosed spaces (without
adegaste ventilation)for extended periods of time.
b. Do not install transmitter when the mike must be no
concealed ea not to receive enough acoustical input level.
c. Do not attempt permanent operational installation.
d. Do not attempt to operate at distances in excess of 100
feet; unless a preliminary check for intelligibility and background
noise is made on the AC lines.
3. While the limitations hinted above. restrict this unit for many
operational uzeo, the following suggestions for its application are:
