Work is progressing satisfactorily. Status at present
includes completion of parameter measuring phase, initiation
of mechanical re-design and purchase of parts.

b. Special Receiver
RR was asked to submit a time and money budget estimate
for the development of a 50-175 MC/S receiver following the
attached revised specification. It was pointed out by
that the 6611 pentode utilized throughout most of the
20-100 MC receiver may not perform as well at these higher
frequencies. He felt, however, that the small deterioration
in performance would still allow for a high sensitivity receiver,
i.e., better than 1.5)UV sensitivity across the band; all other
characteristics remaining essentially the same. Accordingly, a
letter will be forwarded to APD covering estimated time and costs
of development as well as estimated costs of the receiver if
purchased in quantities of 50, 100, or 200.
