1. On 15 June 1953, a of the Office of Logistics called 50X1
and indicated that the Air Materiel Command, Dayton, could not lacate any
reference to an existing procurement order for the PAMM units. This was in
response to our requisition to that organization for a quantity of three (3)
of these units.
2. The writer made a telephone call to Major George Eckels, Pentagon,
extension 78260, and attempted to secure more information on the procurement
of this device. It was determined that the procurement was being handled thru
the Director of Procurement at Rome AFB instead of AMC. The contral symbol for
this device was stated to be 53-234A-33E. Also, the price for initial models
has increased from $2,000.00 to $2,994.00.
3. The above information was transmitted to He stated thai50X1
this would solve the problem. With regard to the increased price, (-)x 1
stated that sufficient funds had been obligated for this program to 50X1
cover the increase in cost.
