1. Forwarded herewith are two (2) copies of a letter dated
September 23, 1958, from the Contractor concerning residual property
2. Thel submitted a list of property on a
Form DD-545 (B attached) dated 12 May 1958. The original total value
of this material amounted to $4,202.58.
3. On June 27, 1958, instructed ^
of the Contract Admin. Branch to have all o the material
warehouse. This recommendatio was in complete
agreement with previous instructions that were forwarded from Commo
regarding material under the subject contract.
4. However, before disposition instructions could be mailed to
the Contractor, called the Contract Admin. Branch and said
that a~ representative had informed him,, that if the return of the
residual property was requested, the subcontractor was going to put in a
claim for an overrun in the amount of $5,000.00 for the work performed
under the subcontract.

subcontractor should submit a bid for the prope y.
8. On August 15, 1958, forwarded a letter accompanied
by a letter from 0(C attached), which offered $150.00 for the
listed items.
9. But the second list did not correspond to the items listed
on the aforementioned DD-545 dated May 12, 1958. The total value
was only in the amount of $1,490-75-
10. When was queried regarding the disparity of the two
lists, the September 23, 1958 letter was forwarded to clarify what
had occurred.
11. It is now requested that Commo be questioned to determine
if the bid of $150.00 is satisfactory for the material listed on the
August 14, 1958 letter.
12. They should also be consulted regarding the disposition of
the remaining items.

the to your office for approval of the $150.00 offer by
the Inc. on Subcontract No. 55-4 for their
Residual Inventory forwarded to us by letter dated lla. August 1958.
As you will note, the Residual Inventory List submitted by=:~
1)4 August 1958, totals to $1,)490.75. This list is submitted in addition to
the previous list of Residual Inventory dated 12 May 1958 on Form DD 545 for
approximatel $14,100.00. The disparity between these two lists lies in the
fact that offers to purchase for $150.00 only that material listed in
their 114 August 1958 form. The balance of the material, as delineated in the
12 May 1958 list, shall revert to the possession of the Government. There-
fore, I believe that upon your determination that the Residual Inventory
offered for $150.00 is of no utility to the Government the offer may be
considered to be reasonable and acceptable by both the and

I hope that the above information clarifies the somewhat hazy
picture which previously existed and permits us to close-out this phase of
the 'Contract.
