RS-16B Battery Charger
?
This battery charger was designed to charge the RS-16 Field
Unit- Battery Pack with simplicity of operation and safety to the
batteries in mind. The batteries cannot be overcharged due to self
regulation of the charger as to voltage and current. The charger
will operate properly with line voltage of 95 to 125 volts, 50-60
cyicle.
To place battery charger in operation remove cover, exposing
line cord, fuse holder, switch and lamps. Operate charger with this
cover removed. Select proper line voltage, 115 or 230 volts. The
charger is not on until the battery pack is plugged in on top of the
charger. The red neon lamp will light when the battery pack is in
place.
The Red Bullseye Lamp is to indicate the charge condition of the
battery pack. When no illl~mination is visible from this lamp, the
battery pack i s at ,full charge.
Under normal operating conditions there need not be any adjust-
ments necessary. A potentiometer has been incorporated to allow ad-
justment of full charge voltage of battery pack.
Note: The open circuit voltage for charging an 11 cell battery pack
is to b e 15.0 volts.
