SUBJECT: Transistorized Radio Receiver RR-11AA, Development of
1. This Agency is presently engaged in a developmental program
with the of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The end
product of this program will be a transistorized radio receiver to be
designated the RR-11AA and RR-11BB. The equipment and the develop-
mental program are, per se, unclassified, but association of this
Agency with the program is classified as SECRET.
2. At a recent conference between
and

of this Agency, it was determined that the
Si orps may des re to procure several developmental models of
this receiver for test and evaluation. Inasmuch as the quantity of
receivers to be delivered under the terms of this contract is
insufficient to permit release of any of these units, it will be
necessary to have additional items fabricated. An estimate from
the-
indicates that the unit price of these
developmental models will be approximately $5,000, which includes
two (2) heads and one (1) main assembly unit to cover the frequency
range of from 3-12 inc and 12-30 mc.
3. If the Signal Corps desires to obtain models as part of
this program, it is requested that this Agency be so notified.

1. The information furnished in the basic letter is being forwarded
to the Signal Corps Engineering Laboratories for determination of possible
requirements for development models. An effort will be made to advise you
of the SigC requirement, if any, within the next thirty days in order that
ample notice may be given the contractor.
2. It is requested that copies of contractor progress reports, test
and evaluation data, and any other available literature concerning this
davalnnmant. be furnished to Commanding Officer, Signal Corps Engineering
3. It is requested further, that the Laboratories be placed on the
distribution list to receive copies of forthcoming pertinent reports.
