If separated .from the file it must be Subjected N individual systematic review. ? - 25X1 Date : June 3 to June 7, inclusive Subject : Gasoline Motor Generator Project #20281 RD-13 Purpose Those Present Observations: : To Observe Radio Interference Measurement Tests 25X1 The has submitted a completed unit SI-AT to the for testing. Its dimensions are 25X1 6 1/2 X 7 1/3 X 8 inches and its weight, less fuel is, 11.7 pounds. After shielding all internal leads and by passing the output terminals with capacitors, both the radiated and conducted noise was decreased so as to meet specifications with the exception of conducted interference at 7 mcs. A reading of 16 micro-volts peak was measured at this frequency. The Hoffman Corporation intends to decrease this to meet specifications ( 5 micro-volts) before submitting the unit to us for testing and evaluation. The unit under tAst did not rim s oothly, the output varying from 70 to 130 volts attributed this to a leaky valve in SI-AT the pressure line to the gasoline tank, and a leaky carburetor float. On the second model to be submitted for testing, they have re-soldered the float and renlaced the faulty valve with a ball check valve. They assured d that these measures would remedy the 25X1 trouble. We observed this improved model undergoing a dynamometer test at and it ran smoothly and consistently for thirty minutes. SI-AT also intends to decrease the size of the venturi opening in the 25X1 carburetor to afford a smoother action of the choke control. At present, this adjustment is quite sensitive.
