Method of Test;
Test Crystal 7515 Kcs.
1. The signal generator was matched to the broadcast
receiver with a RF input of 200 Microvolts. The teading on the
AF powervutput meter was noted as 47 milliwatts.
2. The converter was then inserted between the RF signal generator
and the broadcast receiver.
3. The Signal generator was adjUsted to the receiver and the required
RF input to the converter to.acheive 47 milliwatts 0 output power
was found tc:Ope 4 Microvolts.
Therefore;
The relative gain of the CV-1 converter was found to
be approximately 50.
Note; This testbwas made with the converter being powered both by a
livolt dry battery and the special 4 wedge solor cell.

SOLOR CELL POWERING OF THE CV-1 CONVERTER.
An on the Air check of the Converter being powered by the special
4 wedge solor. dell was made. The results indicate that the solor
cell will operate the CV-1 converter very successfully with a
minimum, amount of sun ( cloudy or hazy day), or the light from
a reflector lamp.
The reflections of the sun upon the solor cell was adjusted to that
the voltage from the solor cell dropped as low as .5 volts and the
converter operated very successfully.
The Heat generated from the reflector lapiaJlave a tendency to lower
the voltage from the tolor dell. The day that the solor car_ was
tested in the sun light was rather cool and no': drop in voltage was
detected.
