References:
1. On June 10 personnel from, this office contacted Mr. Paul Synder at 50X1
Air Force Base, San Bernardino, California. This visit was to obtain first-hand in-
formation regarding the B-26 Aircraft and, further, to obtain reference data to assist
in the design of a leaflet dispenser to be used in this type aircraft.

2. From the information and data obtained and after considerable time spent in basic
layout and analysis, it now appears that our original concept of a dispenser configuration
will be somewhat altered.
3. The dispenser unit we now anticipate will be shaped somewhat along the lines of the _
Ferry tanks, utilized by this particular aircraft for long hauls. Suspension will also
utilize the ferry tank quick disconnect tie-bolts which will serve our basic requirements
quite adequately.
4. The configuration will be no greater, in height than the unit previously built and
tested. This means that the special leaflet loading device, described in previous reports,
will not be & requirement.
5. The displacement or capacity is anticipated to be 60% of the leaflet dispenser to_be built
under Task "G".
6. The electrical system will feature relays and power box assembly.Mpunted at the forward
end of the unit.
The roller drive will utilize existing components to a large degree. Two motors will
be used to serve one typical cell (36 inches long). The motor loading in this arrange-
ment will be 257 less than previousl e erienced.

7. A, method of sway-bracing has been considered. Layouts have been made and stress
analysis is underway. An overload factor of 6 G's has been decided to be adequate
for forward and downward complements. Sidewise factor is considered at 2 GI s:
8. The hoisting problem has been considered at some length. After reviewing the
aircraft hoisting arrangement for the heavier bombs and torpedos. A tentative design
is now being considered utilizing the hoist assembly Part #5122277 with a cross-pulley
suspension.
9. It is anticipated that the design of a dispenser for the 8-26 Aircraft can be
finalized during the next thirty days which will permit the preparation of detail
drawings for fabrication shortly thereafter.
