1. On 6 October 1958 a meeting vas held to discuss the procurement and

2. Although the evaluation of the present kits, being conducted by
TSS/TD, is progressing slowly, there already are several
needed. These are: chances known to be
(a) Change the code numbers to make the system more suitable
for machine records. This Would require numbering certain
similar characteristics sequentially.
(b) Redesign the carrying case.
(c) Reduce the number of skin color cards to one.
(d) Add a fev additional characteristics such as glasses,
chin clefts, widows peaks, hats, and sideburns (or lack
of sideburns for the European style haircut).
(e) Notch both sides of the overlays and number the notches

training persons in the use of the Identikit and obtaining data pertinent
to the eliaination of unnecessary overlays. The CI Staff will use this data
in determining which overlays to add or delete and request this division to
procure additional modified kits.
