The Volkswagen Camper
with Westfalia De Luxe equipment
is a . kitchen, bedroom and living-room with skylight,
curtains, wall-lights and paneled walls. Comforts include:
two upholstered benches that convert into a double-bed,
beds for 2 children on driver's seat, wardrobe with full-
length mirror, plenty of cupboard space, luggage net and
outside roof rack. Convenient kitchen washroom cabinet
connected to water supply in 23 gal. polyethylene tank under
seat. Two folding tables. Cupboard with ice-box, portable
chemical toilet and two-ring cooker are extras. Striped awn-
ing when stretched along one side of the car forms a porch.

Volkswagen Kombi Station Wagon
The Volkswagen Kombi Station Wagon has been designed to offer
more than i regular station wagon - it incorporates at one and the
same time: ~
? A passenger car carrying nine when both rear seats are installed.
? A combination station wagon-truck. With one rear seat taken out,
it still seats six persons and leaves ample space for freight.
? A panel di livery offering 170 cu. ft. of loading space. All you have
to do is to remove the two rear benches.
Salesmen find the Kombi an ideal traveling showroom ... side windows
can be converted into show cases. Cost-conscious firms equip it as a
mobile workshop. Smart tradesmen use it all week for business; on
vacations and weekends its passenger car comfort makes it ideal for
the whole family. Bright windows give full vision all round. The rear
side windows pivot outward 'for draftless ventilation. A sun-roof is

The rugged Volkswagen engine is the major contributor to the dependability and economy of the
Volkswagen Station Wagon. Low rpm, short stroke, and thermostatically controlled air cooling system
make it a thrifty and durable motor that can be driven at its maximum speed for hours on end.
Quick-starting under any conditions; its dependability and steady performance up and downhill
minimize down-time. VW Station Wagons can be driven at top speed under full load from the
very first mile. The gas consumption is so low it has made automotive history.
The oil-cooling system - usually found only in high-priced sports cars - guarantees operational
dependability in any climate.
Rugged construction and positive feel are also found in the synchromesh transmission -so smoothly
engineered a woman can handle it with powderpuff ease.The gear ratios are so ideally chosen that maximum
performance and economy are guaranteed under any conditions. This transmission is one of the reasons
for the superb performance of Volkswagen Station Wagons even on snow and sand, mud and ice.
A major engineering achievement is the strong, flexible suspension system. The front torsion bars,
consisting of nine leaves in staggered widths, are carefully coordinated with the rear torsion bars, to
ensure a buoyant, comfortable ride. Telescopic shock absorbers on front and rear wheels, plus super
balloon tires, keep the car from nodding and bouncing.
Protected by a hydraulic damper, the steering is responsive and easy. Husky brakes answer instantly
and simultaneously to the lightest touch on the pedal - an important safety feature.
Comfortable temperature is achieved by turning the knob of the standard warm-air heating system
to the desired temperature. The ventilating system, adjustable five ways, is also standard equipment.
The air in the vehicle can be completely renewed - every 60 seconds!
