1. Description of the Project
Task R, Contract RD-330 is a tape recorder testing and evaluation pro-
gram.

2. Purpose of the Project
This project was originally initiated as a testing and evaluation pro- -
gram of six (6) standard size tape recorders under various environmental con-
ditions of temperature, voltage humidity, rough handling, etc. LS/ASD has
now requested that two additionll machines be included in the program.
As a result of our first tape recorder evaluation it became apparent that
certain tests produced more useful data than others. It is therefore our
intention to change the scope of Task R in order to fully take advantage of
the lessons learned in the previous program.
