The attached tables and charts reflect some of the activities of certain components of the Office during DECEMBER 1962. 2. The statistics in the tables are compiled by the component con- cerned and refer to the current month. 3. The charts are prepared in this office from the statistics in the tables and afford a means of comparing the various accomplishments, work- loads, and activities from the beginning of the current fiscal year to date. 4. Following are noteworthy items for the month: 25X1A6A 25X1A6A a. The Director of Security and other senior officials of the Office participated in an indoctrination tour of Project WALNUT. b. The Deputy Director of Security participated in a briefing of the DCI concerning communications security and Headquarters building security. c. A survey prepared by the Office of Personnel regarding the processing time expended by the offices of the Agency concerned with Staff applicant processing was received. Results of this survey indicated that the Office of Security was meeting all of its commitments in the hand- ling of Staff applicant cases. d. The Special Clearance Center completed action on the merger of clearance information from five sources within the Agency. Sixteen different types of clearances were involved and had to be consolidated from approximately 42, 000 name cards. i.
