The attached tables reflect some of the activities of certain components of the Office of Security during July 1965. 2. The statistics in the tables are compiled by the component concerned and refer to the current month. 3. The following statistics are furnished for the 'purpose of comparison between this month and previous months: June 1965 July 1965 July 1964 Overt & Semi-Covert Cases Received 1949 1691 1917 Covert Cases Received 1761 2113 2121 Total Days Processing Time (applicant-type) 68 78 64 Man-Hours Expended (Covert Support) 982P 7540 8002 It will be noted that the processing time increased ten days for ap- plicant cases. This increase was in investigation time which is attributed to a high case load, high priority cases other than ap- plicants and a shortage of personnel. The following are noteworthy items for the month: b. A security representative returned from an extended TDY to Vietnam where he rendered security assistance to the Station and its various elements. Another OS representative returned from a TDY in after completing made a brief stop in regarding Enroute to Headquarters, the latter ? to conduct specialized training c. A survey was conducted of selected space in Head- quarters to be used by the newly established Staff. e. A final review of the plans for the addition to the Mwas conducted and recommendations with floor plans were submitted to WH Division for their action. f. Construction commenced in late July. i. A historical account of actions taken by the Special Security Center to promote a consolidation of certain access approvals was submitted through the Executive Director-Comptroller to the DDCI. 1. A study is continuing with regard to possible 25X1A2d1 avenues of consolidating access approvals.
