1. The attached tables reflect some of the activities of certain
components of the Office of Security during SEPTEMBER 1966.
2. The statistics in the tables are compiled by the component
concerned and refer to the current month.
3. The following statistics are furnished for the purpose of
comparison between this month and previous months:

Overt cases received for this month were the highest for a month since
May 1963 (3310).

Classified procurement cases received increased from 574 for
August to 1202 for September. No particular reason was attributed
to this increase.
The overall case load (overt and covert) for September increased 847
cases over the month of August and 1328 cases over September 1965.
