SUBJECT: Central Badge, Credential and Documentation

On 29 August 1967 during discussion with Mr.
he told the undersigned he was working
on a system tor automating the badge credential and other docu-
mentation records for the DDS. This would include the building
badges, 10S credentials, CIA fire arms permits and civil defense
ID cards, together with information pertaining to cover status
(and cover documentation) issued to all Agency employees.

:;, The following day Mr. -presented the undersigned
with a copy of the proposed system, together with a flow chart,
showing the input and output to such a system-n.

3. M r. - explained that he is endeavoring to call a
meeting within the Office of Security to discuss the security part
of such a system; he indicated that he wants Mr. , 25X1A9a
`:thief, Physical Security Division; Mr.. Chief, 25X1A9a
3uildin Services Branch; a representative of 105 and the under-
si,ned at such a meeting. In requesting Mr. -'s attendance, 25X1A9a
he found out that due to vacation schedules lv` r. - will be tied 25X1A9a
up and unable to attend such meeting until the week of 5 September.
It is hoped the meeting will take place sometime that week.

4. },'r. stated his desire that in considering the plan,
he would prefer that no one desires a "feasibility study, " i. e. to
deter)-mine the cost of operating. such a system. The undersigned
painted out to i: r. - that prior to seeking approval of the
Director of Sf curity for such a, system, it would be better to he pre-
pared to answer c,ucstions about the cost of the ;_'proposal.

5. In reviewing the outline presented by Mr. - the
undersigned would like to have answers to the attached list of
questions and is prepared to pose them in the upcoming rt'eeting.
