Your personal note announcing your arrival and preliminary
investigations of the local situation reached me yesterday. I
was glad to hear of your safe trip, and hope you'll get a chance
later to take in the attractions you missed en route.
You will note from the enclosed that there has been some 25X1A9a
anxiety about hearing from you. The letter to Mr. is, I
believe, self explanatory, and no further word should be necessary
either to explain the urgency of getting a quick design on the
approach road. I believe you know our views. on the subject of the
road and am sure you will exercise good judgment in adapting it to
needs of the users. You will probably recall discussions regarding
the insulation of the internal fence. My own feeling is that the
most economical solution might be to replace the existing fence with
barbed wire in order to keep the number of insulators to a minimum.
The cost of doing this should, of course, be weighed against that of
somehow creating breaks spaced a maximum of 301-0" on centers.
Your understanding with respect to starting date for the building 25X1A
construction contract is correct. The , however, is
still in the making, and you will receive notice o ate of commence-
ment concurrently with the Contractor.
Regarding the survey, two prints of each of the two sheets are
being forwarded to you via air mail today. I believe, however, that
the building can be positioned from the information on the plot plan
(completed by you) with reference, if necessary to Drawing No. 9-10
of th
