1. After discussing with Mr. 0 the presence of one Mr. 0 in
25X1A9a the office of Senator Knowland I discussed the matter with Mr. Gleason of 25X1A9a
the Senator's office. Mr. I ad confirmed that II was associated with
25X1A2d1 interview a Senator.
2. Upon seeking more information from Mr. Gleason, he indicated that
25X1A9a 0 simply wanted a statement by Senator Knowland on the occasion of the
Fifth Anniversary of the imprisonment of Cardinal Mindzenty. Mr. Gleason
said they would have no objection to giving such a statement but simply had
25X1A9a wished to confirm that 0 was what he represented himself. Therefore, Mr.
Gleason was going to prepare a statement, have Senator Knowland approve it
25X1A9a and give it too without the latter actually talking to Senator Knowland.
3. I gathered from Mr. 0 that further efforts would be made to
keep 0 in line in connection with Congressional contacts. 25X1A9a
