It has been my recent pleasure to discuss with General
some of the problems encountered in the field of
opera ions communications, Many of these same problems will
confront the Special Forces teams and it is my belief that a
closer working liaison should be established between our two
offices for the. purpose of exchanging information in this field,
Especially helpful to the training program for Special Forces
units would be information concerning your methods of designing
and implementing a signal plan for operations over medium and
long distances. Likewise, those training practices which you
have gained through experience and are designed to insure the
highest skill possible among your communicators, could well be
applied to Special Forces training programs.
I suggest that representatives of my office meet on a
recurring basis at tunes mutually convenient with represents--
tives of your office for the purpose of discussing the problems
encountered in communications. This exchange should be of
mutual benefit and provide a firm basis for a more closely
coordinated effort in the event of an emergency..
