No regular DDP Staff Meeting this week. 3. Items of interest from the DDS Staff Meeting: a. Film on PSD/OL The Director of Logistics arranged for to show the completely revised color film "Printing for Intelligence. " This is an excellent and comprehensive look at the work of the Printing Services Division and has a 30 minute running time. We have arranged with J to show this film to the CS Support Chiefs at our meeting next week. For this purpose we will hold our meeting in Room 1E-74 Hqs and begin promptly at 3 o'clock. b. Language Training Mr. Cunningham reported an unusual example of "tri-parte cooperation" in the need of the Army to give a Colonel Czech language training which was provided by an Agency instructor in the Foreign Service Institute. The training took five months. d. Payroll Deductions for Insurance I has a target of 25X1A about 1 November for offering payroll deductions for those insurance programs that have a monthly premium. In addition to FEGLI which is now on payroll deductions, this will cover UBLIC and WAEPA. It isn't presently planned to of fer payroll deductions for the annual premium programs of Dread Disease, Income Replacement, Flight and Accident policy. 4. Other items of interest: 25X1A 25X1A a. Approval of Return of Personnel from Overseas Posts Prior to Completion of Tour of Duty On. 21 June 1971 the Executive Director- Comptroller approved a recommendation by DDP that be revised to provide that Deputy Directors may redelegate authority to approve return of personnel prior to completion of their tour to a single senior officer. In approving DDP's recommendation, Col. White added it was with the under- standing that the concurrence of the Director of Personnel will continue to be obtained in each case. With this approval, I asks that you b. Chief, OPSE R I mentioned thati entered a hospital today for an operation and will be out for about a month. His new Deputy, will be Acting Chief, OPSER and DDP/OP during absence. 25X1A d. LPSI'sl announced that Harry Fisher has expressed some concern that he is being asked to approve language proficiency step increases for extensive retroactive dates. Now that we have moved to the new system for awards for language proficiency, Harry asks that you clear up all old cases and try to remain current in this area.
