It has come to our attention that a branch of one of the
divisions was able to get parking permits replaced directly by
Logistics without proper recording of the numbers or notifying
my office. This was possible because the individual they happened
to talk with in Logistics was new at the job and didn't realize this
should not be done. The situation has been corrected from the
Logistics point but we are wondering how many other divisions or
single individuals have done this.
Proper recording of the permit numbers is to the benefit of the
individual user. We are the office that gets the trouble calls --
leaky gas tanks, flat tires, bent fenders, lights left on, etc.
If we don't have a record of the permit number we can't help you.
