Overtime 4"A claims for compensatory time accumulated as uncompensated overtime in Vietnam prior to 12 January 1969. Heretofore such credits were regarded as forfeited unless the to ee concerned used the comp time prior to leaving the Station. As required by erne y regulations, the first eight hours per week will be uncompensated. c. Eminent Speakers Program. Mr. Colby has approved a proposal by DTR to develop a series of lectures by distinguished speakers in several fields. These will apparently take place about once a month in the auditorium, probably from 1600 to 1800 hours. A notice will be issued. d. Agency Image. The Office of Training and the Office of Personnel have both reported that the A enc 's image throughout the country seems to be improving. Our recruiter in the reports that he has had a substantial number of phone calls from people indicating that they were favorably impressed by Mr. Helms' testimony at the Watergate hearings. This includes one professor who has been an out- spoken critic of the Agency and who told Bill that perhaps he should reassess his views. The Director of Training, in visiting the West Coast, was told by a major university that the campus attitudes toward the Agency have taken a complete about-face. e. Recently Approved Support Officer Assignment. to Services Staff 1. No roster was taken because of the movie being shown and the large number of visitors attending. 2. Items of interest. a. Mr. Colby's Swearing In. We still do not know the exact date when Mr. Colby will be sworn in, but it is possible that it could be by Friday. A speech for Monday is tentatively planned. (We understand that it will not take place unless he is sworn in before then.) The speech will be at 11:00 in the auditorium. Admission will be by ticket. When we find out how many tickets the DDO will have, we will pass the word to you.
