1. Items of interest from the DDO Staff Meeting - 2 January.
a. Mr. Nelson pointed out that the priorities in the Middle East will result in the NE
Division being given preferential treatment in the next year or two with respect to assignment
of CT's and BOG graduates.
b. In the future, the Psychiatric Personality Profiles will be the responsibility of
OSI/DDS&T, who will coordinate with OMS.
c. On 26 December, the Director reported that the Christmas parties this year
created mope problems than usual. In 1974, parties will be subject to more stringent controls.
d. Mr. Nelson emphasized that all persons holding reserved parking permits should
assure that some other employee uses the permit when the principal holder is scheduled to be
away.
e. The President signed legislation providing CIARDS retirees the same benefits as
Civil Service retirees in terms of cost-of-living increases.

b. Kindergarten Allowance. The effective date of the new kindergarten allowance
was 23 Dec em er 1 . It will not be retroactive, and cannot be prorated for periods before
that date. State has already sent an airgram to explain it, and a book cable will be sent out
to all stations.
