INCREASE IN MUTUAL OF OMAHA HOSPITALIZATION
RATES ANNOUNCED BY GEHA, INC.
1. Claims paid under the Mutual of Omaha hospitalization and
surgical benefits plan during the past year approached the point of
being equal to premium payments. This trend is attributed prima-
rily to an increase in dependents' claims and to some extent to
increases in the cost of certain hospital and surgical extras.
2. Therefore, the Board of Directors of the Government Em-
ployees'-Health Association, Inc. (GEHA) has approved a nominal :in-
crease in the monthly rate of the hospitalization and surgical bene-
fits plan. The new rates, to be effective 1 September 1958, compare
with the present rates as follows:
