Attached is the Clandestine Services position on the future
of Project briefed Colonel White on the
substance of this paper earlier today.

an Agency view on - Any major revision of the - 25X1A2g
format and program will no doubt require some sort of base-

JCS, may be helpful in this regard.
pointed out that the JCS has advised us that some 120
days of lead time is required prior to the beginning of a- """'ma`y
course. This would mean, I gather, that we should be in a
position to give a formal statement to the JCS sometime in the
next couple of weeks.
You will note that Tom Karamessines, in approving the
attached paper, did so "on the understanding that it has the con-
currence of the Executive Director." The Executive Director
prefers to await your advice on an Agency basis.
