Since 1954 the Agency annually has presented a tco-week orientation to representatives of the Defense Establishment, primarily members of the unified and speci- fled commands. This program is known as Project -25MA2g 2. Beginning in 1964, nd in addition to the annual tuo-meek, program, the Aency esented two abridged 25X1A2g t ~~o-day versions of oject Aw. Members of the Joint Staff and the Defense Intelligence Agency have been invited to these short programs. We have had two tvo--deg Programs this calendar year. One was in February, and the other was in May. 3. The Director of Training is in the process of coordinating plans for this year's two-week Project K1A2g which is tentatively scheduled for the period 18 through 29 October 1965. The Assistant Deputy Director for Plans raised a question as to the advisability of this presentation at this time. referred to the pressures of so many different critical problems on all senior officers of the Agency who would be asked to make presentations to the group. 4. The Defense Intelligence enc is now preparing a two-day 25X1A2g program called Project &" which will be presented by DIA for Central Intelligence Agency officials. We would expect some disappointment an the part of the prospective students if our October program is deferred or canceled. Your advice is requested, therefore, regarding the advis- ability of canceling or deterring this program, the prob- able extent of disappointment, and the effect this might have on your relationships with the Defense Establishment.
