The contract for the construction of the main building was
executed last spring and the contractor was directed to proceed
with the work on July 9. 1959. The time allowed for completion
is 750 calendar days and the scheduled completion date is July 29.
1961.
As of February 29. the building contract was 16 per cent corn-
plate. This is just slightly behind schedule and may be due in part
stool strike and in part to weather conditions. Taking into
f
account the reasonable and normal delays that generally occur on
large construction projects, we still hope to be able to start our
move to the new building during the latter part of calendar year 1961.
The foundations for the building and the grading of roads and
parking lots were completed under other contracts. The current
contractor started building construction at the north end of the job
and as of this data has started pouring the floor slab for the top
story of the north half of the building. Of course, the south half
is only partly out of the ground. The contractor is making substan-
tial progress on the installation of air-conditioning ductwork and wiring
conduits throughout the north half of the buildig. Steel work for the
power plant, a separate building, is also well under way.

Last 1 the work had progress to a point where it
propriatee to lay the cornerstone. Accordingly, on November 3, 1959,
President of the United States participating in the ceremony,
e cornerstone for our now headquarters building.
