SIG CAN1' ITE{1S Nothing to report. II. OTHER ACTIVITIES 1. Mrs. section of the Intermediate Writing Workshop ended on 15 November, with a make-up session for the class missed on 3 November. This class section showed an unusual amount of interest in individual consultation with the instructor throughout the course, and a number of the students visited the instructor's office outside of class hours for consultation on particular writing problems. 2. Mr. - gave a lecture on Photographic Intel- ligence to the Special Security Officer's Orientation Course. An exhibit of aerial photography and stereo vision was set up in an adjoining room for the course participants. They showed considerable interest and asked many questions. 3? Intelligence Production No. 3 commenced on 14 November with an enrollment of six JYfs. 4. There has been a shortage of classroom space this week; therefore, classes are being held in the IPF "ballroom" -- Room 2034 -- and Mr. is conducting his Advanced Writing Workshop (DDS Spec a, in his office -- Room 2013. Mr. is holding class every day this week in order to complete the course this week; the course was scheduled to meet on Tuesday and Thursday of next week, but the Thanks- giving holiday would have made it necessary to hold an addi- tional class meeting. The students agreed it would be more convenient to attend class every day this week. It was learned that the United States was able to provide only 22 students out of a connnitment of 34 for the exchange program this year. The question was raised as to the lack of U.S. students in the physical and biological sciences participating in the program, whereas the Soviet exchange students are primarily in these fields. In addition to these, Mr. - is also interested 25X1A9a in having students selected to do research in geography, map- ping, geodesy, and gravimetry.
