SUBJECT: Weekly Activities Report #38, 19 - 25 October 1960
1. Intelligence Review Course
a. LInteiligence Review #1 was launched on Monday, 24 October with
an enrollment of 38 students, 26 DD/I, 10 DD/S, 2 DD/P. The
students range in grade from GS-9 to GS-15; the median grade is GS-13.
Average length of service is 12 years with the Agency. During the
first two days of the course the students' interest has been keen--
the questions have been stimulating and intelligent.
b. Col. G. W. Killen, JCS/J-2, met with the faculty on 19 October
to discuss plans for the military intelligence presentation in the
Intelligence Review on 31 October. Col. Killen requested a dry--run
for his presentation, which will involve personnel from Army, Navy,
and Air Force Intelligence. Arrangements were made for him to use
the auditorium on the afternoon of 28 October.
2. Intelligence Orientation
2 5X1A9A The Orientation Faculty met with to discuss the
use of the review questions and lecture summaries which he had pre-
pared. It was decided to utilize the questions as a review device
in the next course. A discussion on the use of the summaries was
deferred until the staff could review the content of the summaries,
and determine the amount of time that would be needed for reading
them.
3. Other Activities
a. Forty-six Agency personnel attended the Current Intelligence
Briefing on 21 October.

b. Mr. - attended a lecture at the National War College by
Mr. Karl G. Haar, Vice-Chairman of the OCB.
25X1A9A C. Mr. attended a lecture by Henry A.
Dunlap, USIA Program Coordinator for Africa, given on 21 October
as part of the African Roundtable program.
