II. OTEM ACTIVITIES
1. is participating this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon 25X1
in a DOB debriefing of at the request of SR. Ap- 25X1
parently in this instance we some egal loophole in the individual's
claim and SR is calling upon background as 25X1
a student o to establish the authentic' o this claim. I 25X1
am not at all clear as to how legal studies at Charles University some
decades ago is currently applicable, but hope to be able to clarify
this in next week's report.
2.I departure from the OTR scene has left a
significant gap in SIC's JOT program. His presentation of "The
Autobiography of a Communist Party Member" has always been an en-
thusiastically received highlight of the course - and has also been
very useful in both the CPO&0 and ACO. We have come up with several
possibilities for a replacement. We are still planning to us? 25X1
andE:::::=at the end of the course - SR hay assured us that for 25X1
more professional gatherings such as this shed his Chamber of 25X1
Commerce approach in favor of more realistic answers. In addition,
however, SR has a military officer who doubled as a CPSU member who
could provide us with some useful insights into CPSU-smilitary relation-
ships - a subject of particular pertinence currently. The Polish
Desk has also come up with two interesting possibilities, one 125X1
We plan to talk 25X1
with all of them and from this group select a replacement for 0 25X1
If more than one fills the bill we may be able to fit an additional
session into the schedule.
