1. As you suspected, SRS reacted with considerable interest
when I called to apprise them of the request which I had received
from 3 ens in Department of Stag. I talked initially with 25X1
who pointed out that SRS really know very little abou "his=

new nation or what it was doing, and would be most interested
in having as evaluate it for SRS. Shortly thereafter 25X1
called an to re-emphasise what had said, to impress upon me the 25X1
potential importance of this meeting, and to ask as to use it as a
means of setting up a liaison between SRS and the new State component.
It seems quite incredible to me that if they really believe
this to be a matter of some importance that they would have waited for
an incident such as this to do something about it. I believe the new
office has existed since last spring.
2. In checking into the possibility of rovid 25X1
with additional classified material I find that 25X1
virtually everything which SIC Y-- ham mpleted form, or merely in 25X1
transcript, was put together by or transmission to the
island before he left. Actually, most of the materials from which
I an now working were originally prepared 25X1
confirms this and feels that the training se now reasonably well
supplied with Communist material. We will pass along anything new which
appears to have some value for their file.
3. I have tried to contac but so far have talked
only to his wife. He will call as the next few days. Since
the SIC Staff will be spread extremely thin during the next three weeks

staff seminar with In addition, our JOT program should be
