The most striking feature in the structure of broadcasting in Eas.ern
Germany is the disappearance of the long-wave channel (1571 meters or
191: kc/s). The regional stations Potsdam, Schwerin, Halle anti EV!_imar
are at present out of action, but will soon join Dresden on the
common-wave allocation 202.2m.
The Soviet Forces station "Volga", formerly using the Leipzig II
wavelength of 415.5 m, has apparently not yet been given an indepEndent
medium-wave outlet, and one of its programs in Russian is now broadcast
over the Central German Radio's key station Leipzig (287.5 m) betr:een
18:00 and 19:30

The NW'Gt owing to interference from RIAS Berlin on 303 in, found it
necessary to move the frequency of its Berlin outlet from 308 m to
530 m. This was done, after negotiations with the Eire authorities.
and is presumably temporary.
