1. Purssuant to your question of 12 November 1970, 1 be-
lieve the subject of dru abuse was covered adequately in our
meeting of 30 October. where are two items that might be added.
The exhibit on "Drug Abuse" has come into being and attracted
a great deal of attention and interest. Attached are some of
the comments made by observers. As you know we intend to loan
the exhibit to local police organizations and we also plan to
show the exhibit in other Agency locations. In addition we
have received a request to loan the exhibit to the Arlington
Council of the Knights of Columbus. We would appreciate policy
guidance regarding such a loan to a civic organization.
2. A second item of consideration, as per our previously
announced intent, is the presentation of an OMS statement on
drug abuse. Attached is a simple statement that reflects our
views.
3. These two items might provide an opportunity for a
meeting with Colonel White. They could be handled expeditiously
but the occasion might present Colonel White with the opportu-
nity to ask further questions or discuss additional aspects if
he is of such a mind. The question of the topic being an item
for a Deputies Meeting could be handled at the same time.
